This site (books.wadedata.com, "the catalogue") is operated by Wade Ventures LLC ("we", "us") for business customers who buy books from us. By signing in you agree to these terms on behalf of the business whose account you use.

1. Accounts

  • Each account is for one named person at one client business. Do not share your password or authenticator; ask us for an additional account instead.
  • Two-factor sign-in is required. You are responsible for activity under your account until you tell us it may have been compromised.
  • We may suspend or close an account at any time, including for breach of these terms or when the business relationship ends.

2. The catalogue and prices

  • The catalogue, including titles, availability, conditions and prices, is confidential to you and is provided solely so that you can decide what to buy from us. You may not publish it, resell it, share it with third parties, or use it to build or improve a competing product or price list.
  • Prices shown are current market prices and are subject to change until we confirm your purchase order. A price shown or downloaded is not an offer to sell at that price.
  • Availability is as at the time shown on the page or in the download and can change.

3. Accuracy of the data

  • Bibliographic details (titles, authors, publishers, dates, page counts, formats, subjects) come from trade sources and, where marked "Inferred", from our own classification. We work to keep them accurate but do not warrant that any entry is complete or correct.
  • The catalogue is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all warranties, and we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the data, from unavailability of the site, or from a purchase decision made using it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

4. Acceptable use

  • Use the site through its pages and downloads only. Automated scraping, bulk retrieval beyond the download function, and attempts to access other accounts or the underlying systems are prohibited.
  • Files you upload (wishlists, quotes) must be yours to share with us. We use them only to produce your results and to run the service.

5. What we collect and why (privacy notice)

We collect the minimum needed to run the service securely:

  • Account details: your name and business e-mail address, your password (stored as a one-way hash) and authenticator secret (stored encrypted).
  • Sign-in records: date and time, whether the attempt succeeded, IP address and browser type, kept for security and support.
  • Your activity: searches you run, files you upload, and a copy of each file you download, kept so that we can support you, resolve disputes about what was quoted, and improve the catalogue.
  • Cookies: only those needed to keep you signed in and to protect forms. No advertising or analytics cookies.

How long. Account details for as long as the account exists and for 2 years after; sign-in and activity records for 2 years; copies of downloaded files for 1 year; uploaded files for 2 years.

Who sees it. Our own staff, and the service providers that host the site for us (Amazon Web Services, in the United States). We do not sell personal information or share it with anyone else except where the law requires.

Your rights. You can ask us to correct or delete your personal information, or for a copy of it, by writing to the address above. The information is stored in the United States.

6. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts for Henrico County, Virginia. If you have a signed agreement with us, that agreement prevails where the two differ.
  • We may update these terms and this notice; the version and date at the top change when we do, and continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
